How to make facebook private

Here's how to make your Facebook profile private on both the mobile app and desktop version:

Using the Facebook Mobile App:

1. Open the Facebook app and tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
2. Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy.
3. On the Settings & Privacy menu, tap Settings.
4. In the Settings menu, scroll down to the Privacy section.

Making Your Profile Private:

1. Tap Privacy Checkup. This will give you a quick overview of your current privacy settings for various aspects of your profile. You can adjust them here, or proceed with a more granular approach in the next steps.
2. Tap Your Profile under the "Who can see what you share" section.
3. Here, you can control who can see your future posts, about information, profile picture, and cover photo. By default, each setting is likely set to "Public" or "Friends of Friends."
   • Tap on each section (e.g., Who can see your future posts?) and choose the desired audience from the options. Here are your choices:
     • Public: Anyone on or off Facebook can see your posts.
     • Friends: Only your Facebook friends can see your posts.
     • Friends of Friends: Friends of your friends can also see your posts.
     • Custom: This allows you to create a specific audience for your posts, excluding certain people or friends lists.
     • Only Me: Only you can see your posts.

Additional Privacy Settings:

• You can also manage other privacy settings under the Privacy section, like:
  • Who can send you friend requests?
  • Who can see your stories?
  • Who can post to your timeline?
• Explore each setting and adjust them based on your comfort level.

Using the Facebook Desktop Website:

1. Go to https://www.facebook.com/ and log in to your account.
2. Click the down arrow in the top right corner and select Settings & Privacy from the menu.
3. Click on Settings.
4. On the left side menu, click on Privacy.

Making Your Profile Private:

1. Similar to the mobile app, you'll see a section Your Activity. Here, you can control who can see your future posts, about information, profile picture, and cover photo.
